Job Description
General Purpose of Job: Plan, organize and manage Breast Imaging services within the department. Establish policies, procedures, standards for the provision of Breast Imaging. Essential Duties: This job description is intended to cover the minimum essential duties assigned on a regular basis. Caregivers may be asked to perform additional duties as assigned by their leader. Leadership has the right to alter or modify the duties of the position.
- Establish policies, procedures, standards and objectives which meet Federal, State and accreditation requirements. Assure compliance with regulatory agencies.
- Maintain charging and billing system.
- Select, train, assign and orient department staff. Develop standards of performance and evaluate personnel on same. Develop, maintain job descriptions for all staff.
- Responsible for the day-to-day supervision of mammography and ultrasound technologists and work flow processes.
- Develop and maintain quality assurance records by monitoring all mandated regulations.
- Recommend department operating, capital equipment budget, evaluate and justify equipment and supply needs as required.
- Participate in administrative staff meetings and attend other meetings as required.
- Maintain department facilities, equipment, materials, in a condition to promote efficiency, health, comfort and safety of patients and staff.
- Establish and maintain safety, infection and environmental control policies and procedures for the department.
- Conduct modality-specific department meetings.
- Perform technical duties when workload requires.

Work Experience |
* Four years of mammography experience in a clinic setting. * Minimum of two years leadership experience. Preferred. |
Education |
* Associates Degree in Radiologic Sciences * Must be certified by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) in radiography and mammography. * Must be CPR certified. Minimum of AHA of Heart Saver Certification or BLS is required. * Bachelor's Degree in healthcare administration (Preferred) |
Specialized Knowledge and Skills |
* Demonstrated knowledge of computer data bases and RIS. * Demonstrated ability of annual goal setting and achievement of same that enhances the department operation. * Adept with customer service. * Ability to problem solve and multi-task. * Skills to coach and mentor others. * Strong technical skills in mammography and/or sonography. * Demonstrates ability to use a keyboard as may be required to perform the essential duties of the job. |
