Description

We are seeking a seasoned and strategic Systems Engineering Sr. Manager with 20+ years of experience to lead our systems engineering discipline. This role is responsible for driving excellence in systems engineering processes, technical execution, and team leadership across programs. The ideal candidate will bring a proven track record in leading complex engineering efforts, shaping SE strategy, and growing high-performing technical teams in a dynamic environment.

Key Responsibilities:



  • Lead and develop a team of systems engineers, providing technical oversight, career mentorship, and performance management.
  • Own and evolve the systems engineering lifecycle processes, ensuring alignment with industry standards (e.g., INCOSE, ISO, DoD MIL-STDs).
  • Serve as a senior technical authority for systems engineering on critical programs, including architecture development, requirements management, verification/validation, and risk management.
  • Collaborate with program management, design engineering, and customers to ensure delivery of technically sound, fully traceable, and testable systems.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives in SE tools, metrics, and methodologies.
  • Support business development by providing SE leadership on proposals, technical volumes, and customer briefings.
  • Represent the company in technical reviews, customer meetings, and industry forums.


Qualifications:



  • Bachelor's degree in Systems Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field (Master's or PhD preferred).
  • 20+ years of progressive experience in systems engineering, including at least 10 years in a technical leadership or management role.
  • Deep understanding of the full system development lifecycle, including concept development, design, integration, qualification, and sustainment.
  • Demonstrated experience tailoring and applying SE processes in complex, multidisciplinary environments (e.g., aerospace, defense, transportation).
  • Proven ability to manage, mentor, and inspire engineering teams.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with experience interfacing with executive leadership and customers.
  • INCOSE CSEP/ESEP certification or equivalent is a plus.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a US Secret clearance. (Requires US Citizenship)


Preferred Experience:



  • Familiarity with DoD acquisition processes and standards (e.g., MIL-STD-881, MIL-STD-1472, DOORS).
  • Background in requirements traceability, test strategy development, and interface definition for complex systems.
  • TS Clearance


Salary Range: $190,000 - $230,000
