The opportunity

Southern New Hampshire University is currently seeking four student employees to support the School of Engineering, Technology, and Aeronautics (SETA) in maintaining and enhancing the electrical and robotics engineering labs. Reporting to the Engineering Lab Facilitator, the student workers will assist with lab organization and maintenance of the electrical and robotics labs. Sporadically, they could be assigned to assist with design, fabrication and assembly tasks for course-, research-, and events-related projects. This position offers an opportunity to build essential career skills across multiple dimensions of engineering practice and professional development.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Maintain a safe, organized, and efficient lab environment (Career & Self-Development, Professionalism)
  • Collaborate with faculty, staff, and peers on engineering projects (Teamwork, Communication)
  • Assist with printed circuit board (PCB) design, soldering, and component testing (Technology, Critical Thinking)
  • Support 3D design and prototyping tasks for course and research activities (Critical Thinking, Technology)
  • Contribute to web development initiatives as needed (Technology, Career & Self-Development)
  • Adapt to new tasks and responsibilities in support of dynamic engineering needs (Professionalism, Career & Self-Development)

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Current enrollment in an Undergraduate Day program at SNHU
  • In good academic standing
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing (Communication)

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Self-motivated with a desire to learn and grow (Career & Self-Development)
  • Foundational knowledge of electrical systems or robotics (Technology)
  • Eligible for Federal Work Study as part of their financial aid package.

Compensation

The hourly pay range for this position is $12.00 - $15.00. Actual offer will be based on skills, qualifications, experience and internal equity, in addition to relevant business considerations.
