About The Role:

The Construction Materials Engineering Technician role involves dedicating much of your time in the field, actively involved in project execution while upholding quality and safety standards. Your efforts will be appreciated as you see plans take shape and expand your professional knowledge.




  • Project Review & Documentation: Carefully analyze project requirements prior to site operations; document observations and test outcomes for construction materials including soil, concrete, asphalt, and related substances.
  • Data Entry & Tracking: Leverage Metafield or similar platforms to record, organize, and monitor results from both field assessments and laboratory analyses.
  • Equipment Maintenance & Accuracy: Keep all testing tools in proper working condition and verify they meet industry precision standards.
  • Code-Compliant Testing: Perform inspections and material evaluations in alignment with International Building Code (IBC) regulations.
  • Stakeholder Collaboration: Share progress updates and address questions or issues through regular communication with contractors, clients, and project managers.



About You:



  • You have a High School diploma/GED
  • You have a minimum of 2 years of experience in construction testing/inspections of soil, concrete, masonry, and/or asphalt materials
  • You have two(2) or more active certifications:

    • American Concrete Institute (ACI): Field Testing Grade I; Strength Testing Technician; Laboratory Technician
    • International Code Council (ICC): Special Inspector (Reinforced Concrete, Masonry, Soils)


  • You have effective communication skills (speaking, reading, and writing) using the English language
  • You have math skills with a basic understanding of weight, volume, pressure, and units of measure



Are You Willing and Able to:



  • Perform the physical demands of the position with the use of company-provided Personal Protective Equipment such as:
  • Working outdoors the majority of the time in varying weather conditions
  • Walking over rough, uneven terrain and standing for potentially up to 12 hours a day
  • Routinely lifting and carrying 40-50lbs (field/laboratory samples and equipment)
  • Maneuvering field equipment safely, such as a loaded wheelbarrow, on uneven ground around active construction sites
