At Worley, we are committed to delivering sustainable change by enabling our customers to transition toward cleaner, more efficient, and innovative energy solutions. The Commissioning Information Specialist plays a pivotal role in ensuring the safe, efficient, and timely transition of projects from construction through to full operational readiness. This individual is responsible for overseeing pre-commissioning and start-up activities, bridging engineering design with operational performance to ensure our projects support long-term asset viability and sustainability goals.

This role combines deep technical expertise with leadership across commissioning phases and supports Worley's ambition to be a global leader in sustainability solutions.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop, lead, and implement comprehensive pre-commissioning and start-up strategies tailored to project and client requirements, in line with Worley's sustainability commitments.

  • Serve as the technical authority and primary point of coordination for commissioning activities across multiple disciplines, interfacing with engineering, construction, and operations teams.

  • Review and interpret complex engineering documentation and develop procedures that align with commissioning best practices and safe work principles.

  • Identify, mitigate, and resolve potential risks or issues during commissioning phases, ensuring zero harm to people and minimal environmental impact.

  • Collaborate closely with project leadership to align commissioning milestones with broader project schedules, ensuring integration with sustainability and operational efficiency targets.

  • Mentor and guide start-up personnel in execution of test procedures, system checks, and functional performance assessments across project systems.

  • Drive the use of digital systems, data-driven tools, and performance tracking to support commissioning execution and continuous improvement.

  • Promote knowledge sharing, collaboration, and standardized practices to ensure consistency in project delivery across regions and sectors.

  • Act as a trusted technical consultant and decision-maker on the most complex commissioning matters, contributing to technical leadership across the organization.

Qualifications / Skillset:

  • University degree in engineering or a related field, or equivalent trade qualification with significant relevant training and field-based experience.

  • Proven experience in commissioning and start-up activities within energy, chemicals, or resources sectors, with extensive knowledge of systems integration and operational handover.

  • Demonstrated leadership in managing multi-disciplinary teams in dynamic, large-scale project environments.

  • Strong understanding of commissioning processes and associated tools, with the ability to guide others in the development and use of such systems.

  • Ability to work autonomously with high-level decision-making authority and confidence in navigating complex technical and stakeholder environments.

  • Deep knowledge of health, safety, and environmental standards, with a commitment to embedding safe work practices across commissioning activities.

  • Skilled in problem solving, troubleshooting, and innovation, with the capacity to develop and adapt procedures in line with evolving project needs.

  • Effective communicator with the ability to engage and influence cross-functional teams and external partners on critical technical issues.

  • Demonstrated commitment to sustainability and continuous improvement, aligned with Worley's purpose of delivering a more sustainable world.
