Purpose The Senior Product Manager develops specific marketing plans and activities for specific product(s) or product line(s) to establish, enhance or distinguish product placement within the competitive arena. Key duties: Develop and coordinate business plans and product positioning in the marketplace. Oversee market research, monitor competitive activity and identify customer needs. Work with engineering, manufacturing and sales to develop new products or enhance existing product(s) or product line(s).
- Lead and monitor the development of business plans, assess market penetration, and product positioning to drive competitive advantage, revenue and market share.
- Utilize the sales force to extract competitive activity, extract new product opportunities, and identify new markets and trends.
- Implement pricing strategies and develop marketing tools for successful product introductions
- Implement value testing trials with key customers and follow up on sales questions.
- Leads new product definition and business plans with joint departments
- Communicates customer feedback to engineering, manufacturing and sales to enhance existing product(s) or product line(s).
- Assimilate market research to make recommendations on marketing strategy to management
- Attends major conventions to meet with customers and attends training lectures and react to any significant trends emerging new technology.
- Lead product phase-outs and those products affected by cannibalization.
- Provide and report out monthly tracking reports on brand sales versus forecast for the product groups as it applies to service.
- Establish and meet sales and gross profit goals as set forth by the Marketing business plan.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
- Bachelor's Degree in a Business-related field
- Minimum of 8 years' related experience in product management
- Excellent communication skills both oral and written
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
- Strong knowledge of Product Category and current market trends
- Ability to sit/stand for 8 hours
- Ability to lift up to 35 pounds unassisted
- Ability to meet travel requirements
PREFERRED REQUIREMENTS
- M.S. in Marketing or MBA preferred
- Prior medical device industry experience preferred
