Location: 84 Lumber Components Plant
Job Type: Full-Time

Summary:
The Machine Maintenance Technician is responsible for ensuring all machinery and equipment at the 84 Components manufacturing facility are maintained in safe, reliable, and efficient operating condition. This includes preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, repairs, and supporting plant operations to minimize downtime and maintain product quality.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Perform routine and preventive maintenance on all plant machinery and equipment.

  • Maintain equipment performance within tolerance of quality and safety standards.

  • Diagnose mechanical issues and perform efficient repairs on machines and tools.

  • Train machine operators on proper operation and basic maintenance procedures.

  • Audit and verify completion of daily maintenance checks.

  • Maintain a clean and safe machine work environment.

  • Clean, inspect, disassemble, and reassemble machinery and components as needed.

  • Lubricate and oil machinery to ensure smooth operation.

  • Document damaged or worn parts and facilitate the ordering and replacement process.

  • Collaborate with management to schedule routine maintenance and address production issues.

  • Work closely with the Plant Engineer or Product Manager on new equipment setups or product changes.

  • Conduct test runs and make modifications based on feedback and performance outcomes.

  • Keep detailed maintenance records and generate reports on maintenance activities.

  • Maintain and organize tools, equipment, and inventory in the maintenance shop.

  • Perform other duties as assigned by leadership.

Required Qualifications:
  • Mechanically inclined with strong diagnostic and problem-solving skills.

  • Experience using computer-based systems (e.g., MiTek machinery, Component Delivery System "CDS", Direct Drive System).

  • Able to work independently and collaboratively in a team setting.

  • Strong communication skills and attention to detail.

  • Ability to read and write in primary language.

  • Basic math skills.

  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and stand for extended periods.

  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced and occasionally high-pressure environment.

Work Environment:
  • Work is performed in a non-climate-controlled manufacturing environment.

  • Exposure to seasonal temperature extremes, noise, sawdust, and large machinery.

  • May require outdoor work depending on job demands.

  • Personal protective equipment (PPE), such as safety glasses, gloves, ear protection, and hard hats, is required as appropriate.

Physical Requirements:
  • Frequent standing, walking, bending, stooping, and stretching.

  • Regular lifting of materials up to 50 pounds.

  • Manual dexterity and physical strength are required to handle tools and machinery.

  • May be required to work extended or irregular hours during peak times or emergencies.
