SECRETARY - Part-Time

This position provides secretarial support for multiple offices on the Pocono Campus, including academic affairs, community education, and student life.

Hours: Monday to Thursday 12 pm-6 pm; Friday 9 am-2 pm.

Responsibilities: Under the general supervision of the immediate supervisor(s): (1) Provide secretarial services, with specific instructions, using College Standard software and associated peripherals:

  • inventory and order office supplies;
  • provide photocopying/printing support for faculty
  • greet visitors;
  • organize, and distribute mail;
  • maintain files and records;
  • produce documents from written, oral or electronically produced/transferred materials; proofread typed materials for accuracy;
  • answer phones and screen calls as required and directed;
  • place routine calls and dispense routine information;
  • schedule appointments;
  • make travel arrangements;
  • operate general office equipment, such as copier and fax machine as required;
  • other duties as assigned.

Organizational Relationships: Responsible to the immediate supervisor(s) for performance of assigned responsibilities.

Performance Standards: Performance in this position is considered satisfactory when: (1) responsibilities of the position have been carried out at a level that ensures efficient and effective support to all people she/he supports.

Qualification: (1) Education: (a) high school graduate; (b) any combination of training or experience which would facilitate the performance of the above responsibilities. (2) Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities: (a) proficient in College standard software including knowledge of MSWord/Excel/Access software, accurate keyboarding; (b) excellent interpersonal skills with a high degree of confidentiality required; c) ability to prioritize, multi-task and organize work; (d) good oral and written communication skills; (e) ability to understand and follow oral or written instructions. (3) Experience: Minimum 1 year of related experience.
