Core Responsibilities:



  • Subject matter expert for plasma spray process.
  • Develops and implements standard practices and documentation with a focus on process control. Including but not limited to: process parameters, programs, procedures, setup work instructions, operation sheets.
  • Leads activities and collaborates with Operations & Quality functions in support of attaining and maintaining site NADCAP accreditation for plasma spray.
  • Leads NPI process development activities supporting new plasma spray repairs.
  • Reviews process deviations and drives actions to prevent recurrence.
  • Participate in Root Cause Corrective Action process to investigate internal and external warranties.
  • Share product and process ownership responsibilities within the process engineering team.
  • Mentor/Train shop floor personnel on process standards and repair techniques specifically related to the plasma spray coating process.
  • Participate in cross-functional teams on process control, improvement, and optimization projects; participate in other BES activities (i.e. Kaizen, Baseline, Production, and Preparation Process (3P).



Qualifications:



  • Four years minimum of experience in Aerospace MRO facility with special process responsibility, or equivalent thermal spray experience.
  • Must bring a teamwork focused attitude.
  • Prior hands-on experience with Metco plasma spray systems preferred.
  • Working experience and deep understanding of robotic systems as applied to thermal spray processes: ABB, and Yaskawa preferred.
  • Experience in programming robotics for thermal spray applications.
  • Metallurgical understanding of thermal spray coatings and microstructure.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills; ability to interact with all levels of employees, suppliers, and customers.
  • Demonstrated ability to work with team environment.
  • Computer literacy with proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and CAD.
  • Experience with Lean Manufacturing methodology (6-sigma, 6-S, Continuous Improvement).



Education Requirements:



  • BS Engineering degree - Materials, Mechanical, or Industrial preferred
