The Opportunity

The Rothwell Center for Teaching and Learning Excellence (RCTLE) at Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University is currently recruiting for an Instructional Consultant (Level 1) located at the Worldwide Headquarters in Daytona Beach, Florida. The Instructional Consultant (Level 1), is responsible for guiding, mentoring and developing faculty. This is accomplished through regular communication, observation and guidance from the RCTLE College Support Team which includes, course management and quality control activities that support faculty as they prepare to teach, when they are teaching and as they wrap-up teaching requirements. This can include reviewing courses to ensure adherence to contractual agreements and instructional best practices, engaging in dispute resolution by effective communication with academic advisors and college leadership as well as collaboration with college leadership to quickly address concerns and offer additional training opportunities.

The Instructional Consultant will serve as an expert in best practices in pedagogy, instructional technology, and the scholarship of teaching and learning, and as such is expected to actively and continuously engage in professional development activities to remain current in teaching and educational technology trends, and stay up-to-date with Embry-Riddle's curriculum, instructional technology, and polices. The Instructional Consultant will assist with the creation and implementation of training materials based on the needs of RCTLE or the College Support Team as directed by the Associate Director. This can include initial onboarding, ongoing optional offerings or additional resources.

Due to the dynamic nature of RCTLE, the Instructional Consultant must be flexible and able to work collaboratively both within the RCTLE team and with the other ERAU departments and colleges as needed to best serve the needs of the ERAU-W faculty thus positively impacting student success.

This is a full-time position located at our Worldwide Headquarters in Daytona Beach, Florida and is not remote or hybrid.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications

  • Master's degree

  • 3-5 years of related experience

Required Skills, Knowledge, Abilities:

  • At least three years of teaching experience.

  • Excellent skills in performing administrative tasks and supervising personnel when needed.

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.

  • Excellent research skills in the areas of evidence-based teaching practices.

  • Strong project management skills.

  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to collaborate with faculty, RCTLE staff, IT staff, and Library staff.

  • Must be a self-starter and have the ability to work without close supervision.
