Internal Communications and Graphic Design Specialist

Job Summary:

The Internal Communications & Graphic Design Specialist will play a key role in developing creative and engaging content across multiple channels to support company-wide communications initiatives. This position blends both communications and design responsibilities, with a strong focus on storytelling and visual impact to ensure messaging is clear, consistent and aligned with company standards.

The Internal Communications & Graphic Design Specialist will use their skills in writing, editing and graphic design to produce high-quality content for print and digital platforms that inform, inspire and connect employees.

Under the general direction of the Senior Manager, Corporate Communications, or their designate, the Internal Communications & Graphic Design Specialist will perform the following duties. The duties below represent a sample of responsibilities for this role and may evolve based on the needs of the department or the organization:

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Assist with the development of clear, concise and compelling content and messaging for various departments, events and projects for distribution across various internal communication channels. These include the intranet, digital screens, newsletters, memos and other forms of company announcements.
  • Work with internal stakeholders to gather information, craft key messages and create engaging content.
  • Ensure all written materials adhere to ACCO's branding and style guidelines.
  • Support the creation of executive messaging, talking points and other scripts as needed.
  • Design and produce a wide range of corporate visual content including presentation decks, infographics, posters, templates, banners, intranet landing pages, signage, etc. using professional graphic design programs.
  • Take, edit and store photos for use in creating digital assets and designs.
  • Execute designs from concept to final production, ensuring branding consistency across all assets.
  • Manage a library of standard design assets and templates to ensure easy access and consistent use.
  • Assist with the planning, promotion and execution of employee engagement events.

Position Requirements (Work Experience, Skills, Licenses, etc.):

  • Demonstrated expertise in writing and editing, with a strong command of AP Style.
  • Demonstrate intermediate to advanced proficiency in Adobe Photoshop, InDesign, and Illustrator and at least three years of experience
  • A solid foundation in typography, layout and design.
  • Strong understanding of design principles and the ability to translate them into effective visual content.
  • Experience creating designs with input and guidance from others.
  • Detail oriented, quick learner who can take direction and work under pressure.
  • Excellent communication, time management and project management skills

Education and Experience:

  • A bachelor's degree in communications, graphic design, journalism, public relations or related field.

Required:

  • Minimum of three years of professional experience in a similar role.

Travel Requirements:

Travel required 0-5% of the time to other office locations.

Hours:

This is a non-exempt position from Monday through Friday. Work hours begin and end between 8:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. with a one-hour break for lunch and two rest breaks. Eight hours per day is required and other occasional overtime may be necessary for business needs

Competitive Wages:

$29.57 to $37.87 per hour. Applicants please note that actual compensation is determined by several factors that are unique to each candidate, including but not limited to job-related skills, depth of experience, certifications, relevant education or training, and specific work location, among others. The offered wage or salary is only one aspect of an employee's total compensation.
