As a Senior Accountant, you'll prepare, analyze, and interpret the general ledger and financial statements within your assigned functional area or department and provide guidance on financial operations. Our integrity and high-quality work of analyzing financial data ensure we accurately reflect the transactions across our businesses. Through a strategic long-term view and compliance with accounting standards, we help position our business leaders to make better and timely decisions that achieve our goals.

WHAT OUR SENIOR ACCOUNTANTS ENJOY MOST

• Preparing month-end journal entries from accounting transactions over the calendar month including revenue recognition and operating accruals.
• Reviewing assigned intermediate to complex ledgers to understand the variances both in trends and to budget.
• Providing insight into the variances of assigned ledgers including communicating with internal business owners on accounting related issues, completing monthly KMA variance reports, supporting the KPMG audit process, and providing specific required analysis on assigned areas.
• Updating all required schedules for maintaining the balance sheet, completing accounts receivable reconciliations and deferred revenue or liability reconciliations.
• Being responsible for compliance with SOX controls.
• Reviewing transactional level detail and adjusting the ledger accordingly.
• Performing other duties as requested.

WHAT YOU'LL BRING TO SPECTRUM

Required Qualifications

• Experience: General ledger Accounting work experience - 4-6 years; Knowledge of cable television products and services
• Education: Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field
• Skills: Exceptional proficiency in Microsoft Excel to manager complex financial reporting, analysis and data manipulation, requiring an elevated level of detail-oriented acuracy
  • The ability to speak, read, write, and understand English
  • Ability to handle multiple projects and tasks
  • Ability to prioritize and organize effectively
  • Ability to read, write and to communicate with employees, customers, suppliers, in person, on the phone, and by written communications in a clear, straight-forward, and professional and pleasant manner
  • Ability to use personal computer and software applications (i.e. word processing, spreadsheet, etc.)
  • Ability to work independently
  • Knowledge of cable television products and services
• Schedule: Four in-office days weekly
