Our growing company is looking for an entry-level Manufacturing Helper to join our team!
As a Manufacturing Helper you will assist Machine Operators on production equipment with an emphasis on safety and quality. As a member of the team, you will receive the training and experience needed to advance to the role of Machine Operator.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
* Assist in the safe operation of production equipment to produce quality products by adjusting machine controls for speed, temperature, pressure, etc. * Understands and adheres to all safety rules and procedures. * Produce orders on time to satisfy customer needs and production requirements. * Perform product labeling, packing, wrapping and helping to supply line for production. * Assists with all required quality inspections, testing, and production documentation. * Comply with company standards regarding housekeeping and 6S on machines and surrounding areas. * Adheres to and assists in the implementation of the facility's SQF system requirements, including Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs), HACCP principles, and Food Safety Quality system standards. * Helps perform routine preventative maintenance and assists maintenance personnel as needed on machine related issues. * Other duties as assigned by plant leadership, production leads, or shift leads.
Required Qualifications
- Experience working in a fast-paced environment.
- Experience operating high speed manufacturing equipment.
- Troubleshooting skills.
- Ability to solve problems and apply critical thinking to processes and equipment.
- Ability to use a tape measure.
- Experience with hand tools.
- Complete production documentation (paper and electronic): Production logs, Quality inspections, Down Time tracking.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Basic math, reading, and computer skills.
- High awareness toward safety for yourself and others.
- Able to work effectively and efficiently as part of a team or individually.
Preferred Qualifications
* Extrusion experience * College-level courses or trade school preferred, but not necessary. * Ability to operate hoists, pallet jacks, and other related equipment.
Physical Requirements
- Frequent standing, walking, and bending.
- Pushing, pulling, lifting at least 40lbs.
- Eye/hand coordination.
