According to surveys conducted by Northwestern National Life, the Families and Work Institute, and Yale University, 40 percent of workers report that their job is “very or extremely stressful,” 26 percent report that they are “often or very often burned out or stressed by their work,” and 29 percent report that they feel “quite a bit or extremely stressed at work.” Employees in the United States clearly have a great deal of stress at work. How do you deal with stress at work? What are some of the techniques that you use to avoid and relieve stress at work?

When I'm stressed at work, I take a break, step outside and breathe some fresh air to clear my head a bit. Once I get a bit of a recharge and feel a little less stressed, I head back in and take on my work again. Another good thing to do is to never work through lunch. If you work through you lunch break you miss out on valuable recharging time. I know that if I don't take a lunch break, I am much less productive after lunch.
